Daffodils are in bloom at the Wadsworth Mansion, 421 Wadsworth St., Middletown.
Sunday, April 26, the public is invited for tours of the restored Long Hill mansion, the landscape designed by the Olmsted brothers (and under restoration), plus live jazz, and nature walks, 1 to 4 p.m. Events are free.
The mansion was a home of Clarence C. Wadsworth, noted scholar and linguist, who was in the New York National Guard before marrying and settling in Middletown, Connecticut.
His lifelong efforts to preserve the natural beauty of the natural landscape led to the establishment of the adjoining state park, called Wadsworth Falls. His will also established The Rockfall Corporation, a non-profit organization.

For even more daffodils in bloom amid a naturalized setting, view some 600,000 daffodils show off at the 31st annual Daffodil Festival in Hubbard Park on Saturday and Sunday, April 25 and 26. The 1,800-acre park offers festival fun, craft and food booths, amusement rides, live entertainment, and a fireworks display.
