Don't know who "J.J.R." is, nor why he or she carved this massive driftwood log into an artful face, but was lucky enough to see view the found artistic expression. On a recent walk by the shoreline in Connecticut, a chance detour led to finding this carved face left on the beach.
See this log - those who look closely, even at this image, will discern a beautifully carved bearded man in the top portion of the wood.
For places to walk (and spot surprising wonders of all types) look up the Connecticut Coastal Access Guide, designed to help find places to enjoy around the Connecticut shore. Sites open to the public for boating, swimming, fishing, hiking and other outdoor activities are listed, along with maps and access points. Perfect for a walk after feasting this week, or just to find time to clear the mind at any point this season.
