Connecticut Trails Day is stepping off Saturday, June 5 and Sunday, June 6, as part of National Trails Day. More than 160 events are scheduled across Connecticut.
This year marks the 18th time that members of the Connecticut Forest & Park Association have served as the American Hiking Society's state coordinator for Trails Day.
The Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC), local and regional land trusts, town agencies, outdoors-oriented businesses, numerous volunteers, and business sponsors contribute to the success of this statewide event. Walks range from mild to strenuous and include history, wildflowers, geology, walks with dogs and more.
